Almorah Hotel Location
Given its excellent location, the Hotel Almorah offers the perfect base for visitors wishing to explore St Helier – visitors can choose to make the short walk into town or take a taxi or bus from outside the hotel. As the hotel is situated on a hill, it may not suit guests with mobility difficulties.
The Almorah Hotel is situated just 1,150 yards from the exceptional St Aubin’s Bay Beach with its gorgeous shoreline and vast expanse of sandy beach that stretches 5km along the south of the island. During high season visitors can hop on the frequently running ‘Petit Train’ to travel from the St Helier end of the bay to the harbour village of St Aubin. Although the train also returns to St Helier, the more energetic traveller can walk the distance in around an hour. A popular beach with swimmers, sunbathers, walkers, and cyclists, the beach offers a safe seawater swimming pool at the eastern end of the bay whilst more secluded spots can be found towards the middle of the beach. Multiple café’s and eating spots are dotted along the bay as are carparks.
Havre Des Pas
Slightly further afield (1.2 miles) on the outskirts of St Helier is the small but popular sandy beach of Havre Des Pas. This sandy beach boasts a large pool dating back to the 1890’s which is filled with seawater at every high tide. The seafront promenade offers a selection of bars and restaurants and in the summer hosts a two-day celebration of the seaside where games and musical performances can be enjoyed.
Car parks can be found close by and the area is frequently served by various bus routes.
