Jersey Camping

Whilst Jersey has an incredible variety of accommodation options, the best way to get to know the heart of the island is through a camping experience. Boasting some of the best scenic landscapes and idyllic spots, Jersey is an island that showcases Mother Nature at its finest. Basing yourself in the midst of this exquisite nature offers a deep insight into the island and there is no better way to experience Jersey. Jersey camping holidays are a great way to reconnect with nature and if you’re travelling as a group, a great way to reconnect with each other. Jersey camping is a truly wholesome experience allowing you to wake up to the sound of the birds, enjoy nights under the stars and throw yourself into everything the outdoors has to offer. Thankfully, Jersey is home to an abundance of camping accommodation and you will be surprised by the spectacular camping sites available.

Reasons to Choose Jersey Camping

For some travellers, jersey camping is their go-to accommodation whilst for others, it can seem a bit more of a stretch. With so many camping options in Jersey, there is a great jersey camping location to suit everyone and there are also an abundance of reasons why choosing a camping holiday on the island is an excellent decision.

Freedom and Flexibility

Of all the accommodation options, Jersey camping offers the most freedom and flexibility. Avid campers are all about spontaneity and going with the flow. By having no itinerary, it is easy to spend more or less time than planned in place and pack up when you want to. You may find yourself in awe of a certain location in Jersey and want to hang around a bit longer. Alternatively, the island has so much to see that you may be frequently moving locations to experience the best that Jersey has to offer. Whatever your plans, Jersey camping offers you the freedom to change your mind, leave early and extend your stay easier than if you chose other accommodation options. Whilst some campsites are popular and book up fast, many have last minute availability allowing you to change plans at short notice. Even if your first choice is booked up, the island’s small size means that there is always another phenomenal option just a short distance away.

Last Minute Availability

Whilst there are specific sites and camping experiences that are popular and do book up well in advance, on the whole, camping typically has greater last minute availability than other accommodation options. The spontaneity of a Jersey camping experience is all part of the fun with many leaving it until short notice to plan a camping trip or decide where to head to. Campsites therefore generally have excellent last minute availability allowing you to book a camping trip in Jersey at the last minute or change your plans with ease.

Affordability

Depending on the Jersey camping experience you sign up for, camping generally has greater affordability. Whilst glamping and select Jersey campsites may come at a premium, the traditional camping experience is incredibly budget-friendly. Depending on the location and the facilities of the campsite, the cost will vary but the facilities you are typically paying for are limited and therefore highly affordable. In most cases, you simply hire a basic pitch for the night for a low fee and the campsite will come with shared bathroom facilities. The more money you save on accommodation, the more money you have to explore the island, visit Jersey’s attractions and try the island’s phenomenal food.

Variety of Options

Jersey camping is not all about pitching a tent and getting stuck in, there are a wide variety of camping options to suit everyone. Many people love the rugged and wholesome experience of classic camping but it is not for everyone. However, Jersey has endless options for camping and in addition to tent pitches, you can pitch a caravan or motorhome. Alternatively, you may choose to stay in a camping barn with a solid roof over your head. If, however, you are looking for a more luxurious experience, glamping is the way to go. Glamping offers all the benefits of camping but with all the amenities of staying in a hotel, the best of both worlds.

Ultimate Relaxation

Jersey camping and connecting with nature is the ultimate relaxing experience. Surveys and studies have revealed that camping for just one night relieves stress and has many health benefits. Children in particular are said to benefit greatly from camping experiences. The combination of time in the fresh air, time with loved ones and time getting back to basics has a massive impact on little ones. You may also find a digital detox is on the cards due to lack of signal and internet facilities, great for resetting the mind. Jersey camping etiquette is also very relaxed in general with welcoming surroundings and friendly neighbours.

Enjoy the Outdoors

The ultimate reason to choose Jersey camping is for the love of enjoying the outdoors. With so much beautiful nature surrounding you, Jersey is the perfect destination to experience the outdoors. Jersey camping provides you with unlimited time in the fresh air from waking up to the sounds of the birds to laying under the stars at night. Jersey camping is an experience the whole family will love with plenty of outdoor activity to enjoy. In addition to exploring Jersey’s phenomenal countryside and coastline, back at the campsite, you can play games, spark up a barbecue and even toast marshmallows over an open fire. Whatever Jersey camping experience you wish to enjoy, you can find it in Jersey.
