Avoca Guest House Location
The excellent location of the Avoca Villa Guest House, as well as the local bus options, makes exploring Jersey extremely easy. Guests can expect a short walk to the shops and restaurants of St Helier and the bus station is just a 15 minute walk away.
The Avoca Villa Guest House is just 750 yards from the exceptional St Aubin’s Bay Beach with its gorgeous shoreline and vast stretch of sandy beach that stretches 5km along the south of the island. During high season visitors can hop on the frequently running ‘Petit Train’ to travel from the St Helier end of the bay to the harbour village of St Aubin. Although the train also returns to St Helier, the more energetic traveller can walk the distance in around an hour. A popular beach with swimmers, sunbathers, walkers, runners and cyclists alike, the beach offers a safe seawater swimming pool at the eastern end of the bay whilst more secluded spots can be found towards the middle of the beach. Visitors can indulge in a variety of watersports including waterskiing, jet skis and banana boat rides. Multiple café’s and eating spots are dotted along the bay as are carparks.
Just 1.3 miles from the Guest House is the magnificent Elizabeth Castle, situated on a rocky inlet of St Aubin’s Bay. Elizabeth Castle dates back more than 400 years and is a great starting point from which to explore Jersey’s fascinating history.
The beautiful sandy beach of Havre Des Pas is close by (less than a mile away) which boasts a large pool dating back to the 1890’s which is filled with seawater at every high tide. The seafront promenade offers a selection of bars and restaurants and in the summer hosts a two-day celebration of the seaside where games and musical performances can be enjoyed. Car parks can be found close by and the area is frequently served by various bus routes.
