Visitors can take advantage of safe bathing either in the sea or in the popular open air lido which is filled with seawater at every high tide and dates back to the 1890’s. The local area is blessed with numerous restaurants and bars and guests can enjoy a seafront stroll along the promenade. In the summer Havre Des Pas hosts a two-day celebration of the seaside where games and musical performances can be enjoyed. Keen shoppers will enjoy the convenience of Saint Helier town centre which is less than 10 minute walk from the hotel or guest can take advantage of the various bus routes that serve the hotel. Although there is no hotel parking, public car parks can be found close by.
The exceptional Saint Aubin’s Bay Beach is just 1450 yards from the Marina Metro Hotel, with its gorgeous shoreline and vast stretch of sandy beach that stretches 5km along the south of the island. During high season visitors can hop on the frequently running Petit Train to travel from the Saint Helier end of the bay to the harbour village of Saint Aubin. Although the train also returns to Saint Helier, the more energetic traveller can walk the distance in around an hour.
A popular beach with swimmers, sunbathers, walkers, runners and cyclists alike, the beach offers a safe seawater swimming pool at the eastern end of the bay whilst more secluded spots can be found towards the middle of the beach. Visitors can indulge in a variety of water sports including water-skiing, jet skis and banana boat rides. Multiple café’s and eating spots are dotted along the bay as are carparks.
Other nearby beaches include Green Island Beach (1.5 miles). Havre des Fntaines Beach (1.7 miles) and Baie de la Vinde Beach (2.8 miles.).
