Rozel Fort
Watching over Rozel Bay, Rozel Fort is a 19th century coastal defence that has a significant presence in the island’s military history. Built to protect the island against potential French invasion, the fort reflects the military architecture of the time with a perimeter wall, powder magazines and artillery positions. During the German occupation of the island throughout World War II, it was further fortified and repurposed by the occupying forces with the addition of bunkers and other modifications to enhance the fort’s strategic value. Accessible via a narrow road that leads up from Rozel Bay, visitors can explore the fort’s remains and admire the panoramic views of the bay. Le Catel de Rozel

For a small beachfront, Rozel Bay has a great number of dining options. The Rozel Pub is a relaxing place serving up traditional, wholesome pub grub and is a popular choice. The Hungry Man is an alternative option that has been a Rozel Bay establishment since 1947. The kiosk serves both hot and cold food that is great to grab on the go and enjoy on the beachfront. Although Rozel Bay may be abundant with dining options, shopping is more limited. Just one store is at home in Rozel Bay, The Lilac Dragonfly, which is a charming Jersey gift shop that is the perfect place to grab a souvenir.
Nightlife is also limited at the idyllic spot of Rozel Bay with entertainment restricted to bar games and occasional live music at The Rozel Pub.
Rozel Bay Sport and Events
There are limited sporting opportunities at Rozel Bay with the exception of fishing, which is a popular activity at this harbour. The waters are great for catching bream, bass and wrasse, with the pier the best angling spot.
Events are also limited at this tranquil location; however, the annual Rozel Fort Musical Walk is a popular event that sells out every May. Visitors can enjoy a guided walk with the delightful sounds of classical music in the stunning private grounds of Rozel Fort.

Rozel Bay is an incredible Jersey spot to visit year-round with a charming harbour that changes with the seasons. Although the summer months boast better weather, Rozel is a destination you come to more for the scenery and atmosphere than sunbathing and swimming making it a perfect stop, no matter the month.
The best time to visit Rozel Bay is in the early morning, especially around sunrise, when the soft light bathes the harbour in a golden glow and the peaceful atmosphere is at its most tranquil. Facing north-east, the bay is perfectly positioned to catch the first light of day and the early start allows for sunrise to be more relaxing than Jersey’s popular sunset spots. Late afternoons are also pleasant if you enjoy more shade as the sun begins to dip behind the cliffs.
Accessibility is also great at Rozel Bay making it inclusive to all with disabled parking, level access and convenient accessible toilets.

Parking
Parking at Rozel Bay is limited, but there is parking available in a few locations close to Rozel Bay. Parking is available on the quayside with a small number of spaces, the approach road and also on the hillside; however, it is important to be mindful of your parking and not obstruct traffic. There is also parking available at White Rock Car Park if you are struggling for a space, but it is roughly a 20-minute walk to the beach.
Public Transport
LibertyBus Route 3 runs to Rozel Bay from Liberation Station in St Helier. It stops outside the Rozel Pub in Rozel Bay, just a short stroll to the beachfront.
Toilets
Rozel Bay has public toilets located close to the pier which include accessible toilets.

While parking is limited, disabled parking is available on the quayside by the pier. This provides convenient, level access to the beach. However, there are a handful of steps to the pier. There are also accessible toilets located close to the pier.
