St Catherine’s Bay
St Catherine’s is located on the east coast of the island and features a number of rocky coves (popular picnic spots) and the breakwater at the northern end.
When the tide goes out a stretch of flat, wet sand is revealed, but normally swimming takes place from the rocks or the pebble beaches. The sun tends to disappear from sight in the early afternoon as St Catherine’s is East facing. Parking is very limited and there are public toilets at the shore end of the breakwater and Gibraltar slip at the other end of this stretch of coastline.
